The room
A corner on Ranelagh Road since 2015.
The Willow took over a narrow corner unit in 2015 and kept the original tiled floor from the florist that was here before. 24 seats, one espresso machine, a short and rotating food list. The goal was to be the best café within walking distance of as many people in Ranelagh as possible. By most accounts we got close. We would still rather someone came back a second time than left merely impressed.
Take a look insideWhy come in
A small place where the basics are right.
Good coffee requires good everything else: good water temperature, good milk, a grinder that has been cleaned properly. The food is the same idea. Short list, done well.
Specialty coffee
Single-origin beans, sourced from small roasters and changed seasonally. Every espresso dialled in fresh each morning. Every filter brewed to order.
Mostly plant-based
The food list runs about 80% plant-based by default. Not a policy, just what we like to cook. A few exceptions for the right ingredients.
Ten years, same room
We opened in 2015 in a space that fits 24 people on a good day. The tiled floor is original. The regulars know the staff by name. That is the brief.
Reservations
Reserve a table.
Twenty-four seats, so a note ahead helps for groups of three or more. Walk-ins are always welcome subject to availability.
